The MSI Wind is another big-selling series of netbooks and yet another direct response to the Asus EeePC – MSI and Asus being archrivals in the lower-budget segment for laptops too. There are two MSI Wind models (though various colours): an 8.9″ screen and a 10.1″ screen (remember what we’ve said elsewhere about 8.9″ screens – you have to really know why you want one that small). Other than that they are essentially the same, with:

• resolution 1024 x 600 (i.e. wide)
• 2.5-inch hard drives, usually 160Gb
• 1Gb of RAM as standard, though you will find models with more.
• Intel Atom processor

There are a few different models around (u100, u120 etc.) which reflect minor differences in specifications.
